New York City is one of those places almost everyone’s heard of and has written on their bucket list to visit one day. So many people dream of traveling to the bustling city, full of opportunities, history, and of course, people!

Just because you’re in a wheelchair definitely doesn’t mean you need to erase going to New York City off your bucket list! In fact, move it to the top of your list and start planning your trip. The city is just waiting for you to come visit it. There’s a ton to see and do, whether you have a wheelchair or not.

Of course, once you get there, you’ll need somewhere to stay. Consider going to one of the following five places to call your home away from home in NYC. They’re all well equipped for guests who use wheelchairs.

citizenM New York Times Square Hotel

What’s most important to you in a hotel? Whether it’s a comfortable bed with ultra fluffy pillows, giant windows, a rain shower, free Wi-Fi, or free premium TV channels, citizenM has it all! Wherever you’re from, they want to make you feel at home with them.

citizenM does not have a pool, but they do have wheelchair accessible rooms. The rooms have roll-in showers so everyone can clean up easily. The hotel also has elevators that fit wheelchairs. As you can tell from its name, it is in a very convenient location! You can easily get to all sorts of tourist attractions from its central position.

The Pearl Hotel

The Pearl Hotel is all about sophisticated elegance. It has thoughtful offers such as a complimentary continental breakfast, wine and cheese hours, and their Sunday Stay Special. If you stay 2 or more nights and one of those nights is a Sunday, they’ll give you 10% off your Sunday night stay!

Not only is the Pearl Hotel thoughtful, but they also have wheelchair accessible rooms. Those rooms have roll-in showers for easy access. They do not have a pool, but they do have elevators spacious enough to accommodate a wheelchair.

The Pearl Hotel is a great location for sightseeing! Central park is ten minutes from the hotel, and Rockefeller Center is only five minutes away. Their prices are around $360 per night depending on when you plan to stay there.

Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown

The Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown is a luxurious place to stop and stay for your visit to NYC. The hotel is in one of New York City’s tallest residential towers. The first twenty-four floors are home to the hotel. The rooms have great views! Some rooms even feature balconies.

The hotel has wheelchair accessible rooms with wide doors, lowered safety boxes, lowered peepholes in the door, and bathrooms equipped with roll-in showers and grab bars. The hotel also has a pool and a pool lift can be arranged if the staff is given notice in advance.

The hotel is within walking distance of quite a few places! You can easily roll to the Anne Frank Center, 911 Ground Zero Tour, and City Hall Park to name a few. Plan to pay around $750 per night depending on the season and room.

The Lexington Hotel New York City

The stylish Lexington Hotel located in Midtown Manhattan has classy decor inspired by the Jazz Age. They offer a fitness center as well as an on-site Starbucks and pillow top mattresses. They have everything you need for a comfortable, productive stay!

They have wheelchair accessible rooms with wheelchair accessible bathrooms. Their elevators are also large enough to accommodate wheelchairs. The hotel does not have a pool, but they are close to plenty of places to go see! You can easily get to Bryant and Central Park, Times Square, Grand Central and the United Nations. It’s a great spot to be if you’re hoping to tour attractions!
